Two brothers from Dublin, Jay and Glenn Byrne, have introduced an app called Social Fightin, which they believe could transform the landscape of boxing and other combat sports. The app, which went live last week, is designed to bring together fighters, fans, managers, promoters, and coaches in one digital space.

Streamlining Boxing Logistics

The concept for Social Fightin emerged from the challenges Glenn faced in arranging sparring sessions during training camps. The traditional method involved extensive texting and coordination, which proved cumbersome. Similarly, Jay encountered difficulties with last-minute changes in fight line-ups, requiring him to contact multiple matchmakers and search for replacements.

The app addresses these issues by providing a centralized platform where fighters can schedule sparring sessions, specify details such as weight class and stance, and connect with potential partners. This streamlined approach aims to simplify the logistical aspects of training and event preparation.

Comprehensive Features

Beyond sparring arrangements, Social Fightin offers listings for nutritionists, strength and conditioning coaches, and suppliers of fighting gear. A fan zone section allows enthusiasts to engage in discussions about ongoing fights. To maintain a respectful community, all users must verify their accounts with valid identification, reducing the risk of anonymous trolling.

Jay Byrne, who transitioned from professional boxing to management and promotion, believes the app will significantly ease the operational challenges within the sport. His brother Glenn, who retired due to injury, shares this vision, drawing on their extensive experience across various facets of boxing.

Social Fightin is now available for download on both the App Store and Google Play, offering a new way for the combat sports community to connect and collaborate.
