For fans of Gaelic games, a new opportunity to step into the shoes of a manager is on the horizon. Irish Sport Manager, a simulation video game, aims to become the Gaelic Athletic Association’s (GAA) equivalent of the popular Football Manager series. This game allows enthusiasts to manage their own teams across all four codes of Gaelic games: football, hurling, camogie, and ladies’ football.
A New Era for GAA Fans
Irish Sport Manager is set to offer a comprehensive management experience, allowing players to take control of a county team in Ireland. Players can select their squad from local parishes and navigate the challenges of managing amateur athletes who balance sports with everyday life. The game promises a deep and engaging experience, reflecting the unique aspects of Gaelic games.
The game will be available as a free demo on Steam starting August 31, with a full release planned for January 2027. This gives fans a chance to explore the game’s features and provide feedback before its official launch.
Features and Expectations
Irish Sport Manager covers all four Gaelic games codes in one save, including two women’s codes. It aims to capture the essence of managing a team where players have jobs, exams, and other commitments. The game’s creators hope it will attract a dedicated following, similar to the cult status achieved by Football Manager.
With its focus on authenticity and depth, Irish Sport Manager could become a staple for GAA fans worldwide, offering them a chance to engage with their favourite sport in a new and interactive way.
