Shane Lowry is set to reunite with his former caddie, Dermot Byrne, following his impressive victory at the Irish Open. Lowry, who hails from Offaly, ended a four-year title drought with an 11-stroke triumph at Donald Trump’s Doonbeg resort. This victory marked a significant milestone in his career, achieved with Byrne by his side.

Lowry and Byrne had previously worked together earlier in Lowry’s career, and their renewed partnership comes after Lowry’s recent split with Darren Reynolds. The decision to part ways with Reynolds occurred in June amid a challenging period for Lowry. Despite the change, Lowry reflects positively on their three-year collaboration, which included memorable Ryder Cup moments in Rome and New York.

The 39-year-old golfer described his reunion with Byrne as revitalising, noting the positive impact Byrne has had on his game. Lowry is also looking forward to catching up with Reynolds at the upcoming BMW PGA Championship in Surrey, England.

Lowry also acknowledged the contributions of Brian “Bo” Martin, who caddied for him during his 2019 Open Championship win at Royal Portrush. Although Lowry expressed some regret that Byrne missed out on that career-defining moment, he remains grateful for the successes achieved with Martin.

As Lowry prepares for his next tournament, he carries the momentum from his recent victory and the renewed support of Byrne, aiming to continue his successful run.
